Me In A Nutshell

I was that kid that went to Israel on family trips and blasted my American playlist. The kid that only spoke to Israelis in English so that when they finally figure out America is the place to be they will know the language. I grew up in Bnei Akiva and Moshava, but I think it is safe to say I was one of the few in camp that didn't plan on making aliyah.
I was set. I was born, raised and would live in the U. S of A forever. You know, I would love Israel from very far away.
Well well the Man upstairs had very different plans for me. After spending a year and a half in Israel at Midreshet Harova, the strangest thing happened... I wanted to live in this crazy country in the Middle East where manners are just not part of the culture, shoes are not owned by half the population, the solution for the water shortage is just not to shower ever and waiting on a line is far from a concept. Yes, I wanted to live in Israel. I wanted to be apart of something bigger.
So I did just that. I, along with my iPhone, three close friends, plus my Mac and most importantly pounds of Reese's chocolate moved on up. On August 14 I made aliyah along with 350 other people on a Nefesh B'Nefesh charter flight. I am still convinced I have gone clinically insane.
I now live in Israel, a country where anything and everything is possible, hence I refer to this blog as a venting session.
Enjoy reading these shared moments. Some humorous, some ridiculous, some incomprehensible, some inspiring, but all "only in Israel" stories.
Oh and hi my name is Lottie. I am attending Bar Ilan soon and am studying Jewish History in a language I don't understand. Life is too short to have a dull moment.
